Newsletter - June 2012

The June Retreat was the first retreat where people could register for the event online. We are very excited about our new website.  We have to thank Dr. Stephanie Harakal for being the instrument in creating our new beautiful website. Stephanie did a great job on capturing the essence of what Fr. Campoli said (see below).

We began our meeting after Mass with coffee, some pastries and then we formed a group to recite the “Living Rosary.”  What a blessing and an opportunity for all of us to come together and share our needs and petitions.

Our guest was Father John Campoli of His Love Ministries who was the celebrant for Mass and the speaker for the June 16th Retreat Day for CWOZ Chapter I. In his homily, Father talked about how the crowds in Jerusalem made it difficult for Mary and Joseph to find Jesus in the Temple and reminded us that there are many different types of "crowds" that distract us today.

In his talk later, Father Campoli spoke about the Trinity and our relationship with God. Some of the points he made during his talk included:
  • We all have a need to belong. As far back as Noah, we know that when Noah took the animals into the ark, he took them in pairs so none were alone.
  • Led by the spirit, we are baptized and become the adopted children of God
  • Adopted children share equally with natural children. We are all children of God
  • God wants us to be the person that we are meant to be. In other words, be yourself.
  • God doesn't need anything from us. He already has everything. All He wants is to let him love us.
  • If God wanted us to be angels, He would have given us harps and put us on a cloud.
  • God always hears us.
  • God loves us by giving us freedom. We are free to reject God, but God never rejects us.
  • We learn from the scriptures that locked doors can't keep Jesus out. Locked hearts can't keep him out either.
  • In the Mass, it is the Holy Spirit that changes the host and wine into the body and blood of Christ, not the priest.
  • If God wants you to do something, He'll make sure that somehow you are able to do it.

We ended with a hot buffet lunch and announced that our next meeting will be held on October 27, 2012 instead of our scheduled meeting on October 13th.

On October 12, 13 and 14, 2012, the Diocese of Trenton will hold a Eucharistic Congress at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel . The Catholic Women of Zion have been asked to participate in this event with an exhibit.

May Jesus Bless You Abundantly!
